Education, social engagement and enjoyment are our raison d'etre, (learning is easier when you're having a good time)
Our dedicated workshop is based at Lambourne End Centre for Outdoor Learning in Essex. From here we are able to work with small groups and use our skills and specialist equipment to deliver bespoke courses.
If you're a teacher, lecturer or an outreach worker we can work with you to develop tailor made lessons relevant to the curriculum you are studying. Our sessions can include practical work, theory or demonstrations and can be held at our workshop or at a venue of your choosing.
We have a special interest in working with students who aren't thriving in mainstream education. Our team can offer the time, patience and understanding needed to work with young people who have specific educational needs.
If you've ever been told not to play with fire or hit things with a hammer then you're in for a treat, because that's exactly what we expect you to do!
With over a decade of teaching experience between us, we are highly qualified to show you how it's done and ensure you end your day with everything still attached. Whilst it may take decades to master the 'king of the trades' We will provide you with a safe and fun environment where you can unlease your inner metal mangler.
We are proud of the fact that they we have taught people from all backgrounds and abilities from children with alternative learning styles to actual rocket scientists!

Welcome to the Forge
Our 'Mobile Forge' offers the unique opportunity to bring a fully working Blacksmiths workshop to your own venue.
If you can't come to us we can come to you! Our team will happily do something that very few blacksmiths are prepared to do. Load up a van (even our 'small' anvils weigh over 50kg!) and bring our forge, and unique banter to you.
Our moble forge has visted schools, festivals and stately homes and we are always on the lookout for new venues.
We can offer demonstrations, 'have-a-go' sessions and courses all to suit your needs and budget.
Always wanted to have a go at Blacksmithing but never dared to try? Come to one of our weekend or evening classes
We have a program of courses for members of the public who want to learn how to forge. These range from short taster courses to more indepth and advanced classes. Details are listed on our 'courses' page which is updated regularly.
We are also able to offer one to one tution so if you don't find a course that is right for you do get in touch and we can try to help.
If you've got a dream but don't have the skills or time to make it real we might be able to help
If you've got an idea for a project but you aren't quite ready to make it yourself, we're always happy to discuss commissions. Whether you want a one off garden ornament for a gift or the perfect gate for your new home we can turn your ideas into reality.
